We’re glad you decided to check us out! Opened in 1878, Central is the oldest school in Longmont and the St. Vrain Valley School District. The setting in the historic west side neighborhood of Longmont across from Thompson Park adds to the stateliness and beauty of the school and community. Central Elementary is presently undergoing an exciting and dramatic transformation into a preschool through 5th grade International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme. The staff, parents, and community are committed to providing our children with a 21st Century education that focuses on an inquiry-based approach to learning and giving them the tools to be successful and productive citizens who maintain a life-long passion for learning and new experiences in a global society.
